In 1984, David founded PromoWest Productions, Inc., a concert and special event promotion and production company. As Vice-President and Co-Owner of the company, David was in charge of both daily operations and the technical production needs of the touring acts. David produced over 250 concerts and events per year in venues ranging from intimate 1700 seat theaters to multi-day outdoor festivals attended by over 200,000 people.In 1993, David founded The Scarefactory, Inc., a three-dimensional design and fabrication studio that combines art and technology to create fantastic animated creatures and their scenic environments.

PromoWest was one of three partners in the $22 million Polaris Amphitheater in 1994. David was on-site for the majority of the project's construction phase. He went on to produce all of the first season's acts, including The Eagles, Janet Jackson, and Phil Collins.

David created his first theme park attraction in 1995, which he now co-owns with Six Flags.

This first catalog line of characters and props for the Themed Attraction Industry was launched in 1996.

On July 17, 1997, David and Alice welcomed son Cameron into the world. David continues to produce events, including stadium dates for U2's Popmart Tour and The Rolling Stones' Bridges to Babylon Tour. In 1998, SFX, Inc. bought the Polaris Amphitheater as the concert industry consolidated. David sells his PromoWest stock to focus on The Scarefactory, Inc.

Since 1998, The Scarefactory has grown to serve over 250 clients annually. Among our current clients are Disney, Universal, Paramount, Ripley Entertainment, and Six Flags.

Notable projects in the UK include the 12th Duke's Edinburough Dungeons and Dragon Quest at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland for the 12th Duke and his family.

To promote the new “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride and retail presentations at Disney World, Disney Land, Disney Cruise ships, and flagship retail locations, David was asked to create over 180 pirates in 2006.

To promote his company's unique design and fabrication skills, David was approached by The History Channel in 2008.

In 2014, the Company produced and executed attractions in over 40 countries.

In 2017, the Company expanded again, moving into larger 73,000 square-foot studios to meet increased demand for its products and services.
